Counteracting Lies
This is one section of this FAQ that is oriented towards
alt.binaries.sounds.mp3.d and the groups cross-posted along with it in bully
attacks. As time goes by, we will add to this page.
Myth: the MP3-FAQ.org site has dangerous
javascript!
That is pretty hilarious. The MP3 FAQ site has a hit counter. You can examine
the code yourself, either at the MP3 FAQ home page (view source) or at http://www.UltimateCounter.com.
While I have seen some weak attacks on the MP3 FAQ in my time, this is easily
the weakest. The troll-bullies who leveled this attack really expect their
audience to be profoundly stupid.
The MP3-FAQ.org site is a money-generating
scheme in collaboration with Easynews.
Also pretty hilarious. The MP3-FAQ.org site used to be hosted by skuz.net
because of their excellent privacy policies, but skuz.net is pretty dead now. We
migrated the site to deru.net because they offered a very good deal. Deru is
associated with Easynews, a News Service Provider, someone who understands
Usenet.
The troll bullies now assume that, since the MP3 FAQ points to Easynews (as
well as Airnews, Altopia, Giganews, Newscene, Newsfeeds, Newsguy, and Usenet
Server), that we have some sort of deal with Easynews for referrals. That we are
making money on these referrals. This is false, and I have offered a $1000
reward for anyone providing proof that such a relationship exists. This is an
easy and safe offer, since no such relationship exists, so it could not possibly
be proved. We certainly are a key referrer for Easynews, just as we are a key
referrer for other news providers.
Still, the troll-bullies, using the principal of the Big Lie, are repeating
their claim that MP3-FAQ.org is somehow tainted by its relationship with Deru/Easynews.
In fact, we could easily and legitimately make money on referrals, but we prefer
to remain neutral and independent.
The bullies hate the MP3 FAQ, and they will tell any lie to try to denigrate
it and anyone associated with it.
So-and-so is a pedophile.
Why a pedophile? Because that is the most detested form of life on the planet.
Who is a pedophile? Well, in the buttload of groups cross-posted to
alt.binaries.sounds.mp3.d, the nyms accused of pedophilia include:

anadvocate
eword
TheApostle
and others
Are any of them pedophiles? Doubtful, but not impossible. The troll-bullies
attack everyone they hate, and they hate these nyms well and often. Why? Because
in some cases the target of attack cannot resist replying to the bullies, while in other
cases the target fought back against them or represented an authority figure, so
they "deserve" special negative attention.
The bullies tell almost nothing but outrageous lies, so it is hard to believe there is
any truth to their accusations. The webmaster of this site is probably
next. It's in the formula.
